Section 1.3: Goals and Objectives

Section 1.3 will be created from scratch through a brainstorming session on February 19, 2010 (see the Resource Center website for the full meeting announcement).

This is what the Model State 9-1-1 plan says about section 3.1, "Goals and Objectives":

1.3 GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

This section of the executive summary outlines key goals and objectives of the state’s 9-1-1 program.
The goals and objectives will differ from state to state, but regardless of the specifics unique to each state,
the executive summary needs to include those that are the most important for all stakeholders.

The following information categories would typically be outlined:
• Desired services and capabilities
• Infrastructure, equipment and technology (capital improvements) to be acquired
• Necessary funding
• Necessary legislation
• Operational support required
• Staffing and training needs
• State 9-1-1 program administration

A follow-up workshop for this section will be held March 11, 2010, from 1 to 3 PM, at the El Paso-Teller County 9-1-1 Authority building at 2350 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO. I will post a draft based on the previously held brainstorming session as soon as possible.
